Fanfare Releases New Features in December Plug-in (EA) Release

We are pleased to announce the early access (EA) release of several new iTest® modules and updates. Customers can easily apply these features and fixes directly on top of the latest iTest maintenance release (iTest 3.4.2) using the iTest Update Site or Fanfare Support Portal. Below is a brief description of each download as well as links to further information.

Available now:

  • Flash GUI Testing – Test your Adobe® Flash® applications developed using Adobe Flex®. iTest captures and automates one or more Flash applications hosted from a web page, similar to the native capture, targeting, and analysis concepts used in other iTest GUI tools such as Web and Java Swing. (Watch feature video)
  • Spirent TestCenter GUI – Drive and automate the most common functions of TestCenter directly within iTest. Capture configuration changes in real time, eliminating the need to upload additional configuration files. (Watch feature video)
  • Spirent Avalanche (VQA.DB enhancement) – You can now use iTest to run and browse test results of Video Quality Analysis (VQA) using the Spirent Avalanche application.
  • And More. Customers can also access the latest Traffic Generator support updates and bug fixes via the Update Site. Here is a link to the bug fix list.

License and iTest Version Requirements:

  • Customers must install iTest 3.4.2 prior to downloading the above capabilities.
  • All the above listed modules require a separate license in addition to your iTest license. Note: A one-time 15-day trial license is included to preview the features.
  • For customers who already have an Avalanche integration license, no additional license is required.
  • Customers with an existing Spirent TestCenter license (for command line integration) require an additional license to use the new GUI-level integration.
  • A Web module license is also required for those interested in using the Flash Module.
  • Please contact your Fanfare sales representative for purchasing options.

How to Get Access:

  • You can access all of the above directly through iTest using the Update Site feature.  Here is a link to instructions on how to use the update capability:  Using the Update Site to Update iTest
  • You can also access new modules on the Fanfare Support Portal. Note: the bug fixes are available only through the Update site. Contact Fanfare Support if you need help setting up a portal account or have questions about installing the above features.
