On Tuesday, Fanfare announced a partnership with Tech Mahindra, a leading global systems integrator. (See press release.) This partnership further illustrates how this industry is moving from home-grown proprietary solutions to commercial solutions at an accelerated rate. It also is the direct result of iTest's ability to address a wide range of test automation challenges. Tech Mahindra is involved in virtually every aspect of today’s communications market, including rolling out such cutting-edge services and technologies as IPV6, LTE, wimax, IP video, and data over wireless. That Tech Mahindra selected iTest to provide a common automation platform for these different applications is a testament to iTest’s versatility.

Fanfare has created a test automation platform that can be used for virtually any type of device, network, or service deployment. This extensibility is a big reason why iTest is the industry's hottest automation platform, and why Tech Mahindra is able to implement a common infrastructure that supports a variety of different market and customer requirements.

Fanfare and Tech Mahindra are a powerful combination, with both companies firmly committed to using iTest to create reusable, application-specific test libraries for new services such as IPV6. Together, Fanfare’s iTest and Tech Mahindra’s global delivery capability, low-cost optimized engineering resources, and vertical test libraries provide a complete managed services offering.

The timing for this partnership and offering could not be better. With a global economic slowdown well underway, more and more NEMs, service providers, and enterprises are sure to be in the market for this type of comprehensive, cost-effective solution.

Over the coming months, it will be interesting to see this partnership accelerate the use of  iTest for deploying IPV6, LTE, wimax, IP video, and data over wireless services and devices.  All of these high-software content, complex deployments can certainly benefit from the core capabilities of iTest—including capture-replay, XML authoring, test execution, documentation, and analysis.
