Find in Test Report

[ Edited ]
Did you ever want to find something you were looking for in an iTest test report – but because the test report is so long, it is difficult to find?  Suppose, for example, that you’d like to find a certain step during execution where one of your devices produced a certain message?

If so, you’ll be pleased with a new feature in iTest 3.4 that allows you to search for text in a test report.  If you hit Ctrl+F in the test report editor (or select Find/Replace... from the main Edit menu), you’ll see a search dialog pop up where you can enter the text you are looking for.  You can even narrow your search into certain fields and can provide patterns to match on if you need this.

Another nice little addition to iTest’s test report editor are new toolbar buttons that let you quickly jump to the next (or previous) step with an issue associated with it.  For long test reports, this can be a very quick way to navigate through the steps of interest.

Re: Find in Test Report

Not only can you search the steps in the Test report editor, you can even search for keywords in each step's response, structured data and execution Issues.  The resulting match will be highlighted in the Response View, Structure Data View, and Step Issues View respectively.
